Welcome to the Telework Network

We are proud to launch the Telework Network! This network has been created through a culmination of efforts by a group of teleworkers. This group, headed by our founder John Edwards, pinpointed the need for a clearinghouse of information on "teleworking" - a site simple in design, yet complete with information.

If you're not sure what teleworking is, you may have heard it referred to as "telecommuting" or simply "working from home," however it basically means working away from a headquarters or main office. The field includes telemedicine, businesspeople on the road, and much more. For a more detailed definition, please see our About Teleworking page.

Our founder, John Edwards, has been studying and researching teleworking since the early 1990s, and is dedicated to providing information to anyone interested in the topic through the Telework Network community of knowledge. Read John's biography here.

Our visitors include:

  • people currently working away from their traditional office;
  • employees interested in how to approach their manager to start teleworking;
  • managers contemplating a teleworking program;
  • students or journalists researching teleworking;
  • government employees or officials developing legislation related to teleworking issues.

Everyone is welcome to learn about teleworking, and we invite our visitors to explore the site. For a quick overview of our content, click over to the site map or browse the links on the navigation. If you would like to advise us on a topic you'd like to add or to provide us with information you recently discovered, please feel free to submit your comments and feedback (click here).

Suggestions and content submissions are welcome on all topics, whether related to your employer, to you as an employee, to your colleagues, to workplace issues, to your community; both local and global.
