Some laws can encourage telework as family-friendly, some as business-friendly, some that promote workplace efficiency, and some that reduce strain on transportation infrastructures.
This section shows the various approaches that Legislators are taking to promote Telework. These approaches vary from providing tax credits, to providing seminars, to requiring situation/survey reports to oversight committees and/or Cabinets, to designating all employees as eligible to Telework unless proved to the contrary.
Some legislation involves moving around ultimate Telework responsibility between the Secretaries of Administration, Technology, Human Resources, Transportation, Energy/Environment and Homeland Security; in other words the Buck remains on the move without landing.
We suggest that Telework implementation be under the direction of the President, a State's Governor, or a County's Chairman of the Board of Supervisors.
Additionally, to facilitate Telework, I have included 10 pieces of Legislation/Directives (on a 1-page .pdf) that would significantly reduce the reasons (excuses?) for not Teleworking. Please spread these suggestions to your network of influence.
